BACK TO KILTORMER
With a mind for courtin’ we’d head out, to Finn’s on the corner. On the second Thursday of the month, back to Kiltormer. These roads I know, will take me on a journey home, like a tune I’ve know before.
Among the faces in the fading light, I struggle to find her. When two eyes lit so bright, and to the parlour, and some nights it seems, written for the fool like me to let our love run free.
And if I could could ever regret, to jumbled up lines and mistakes that I haven’t made yet. And if I’d get the chance again. Forgive me my darling, I’ll give you fair warning, but I’ll not let this moment pass. For inside a moment, it won’t last forever. But together we can take our chance.
No calls for whiskey or for stout, no one’s took to the porter. As one by one they filter out, lead each other on the dance floor, and as they danced the band played, to the pressed shirts and pomade, to the brightly coloured shades and the twirling nylon.
I take your hand at the turn of a reel, that will set us in motion for whatever comes and what will. And will I get the chance again. Forgive me my darlin’ I’ll give you fair warning. But I’ll not let this moment pass. For inside a moment, it won’t last forever, but together we can take
our chance.
