I know it doesn’t make much sense to sit and write you this song. It’s but a week since I met you, but I think you’d understand. You know the way the mind can wander and come back with a plan.

Take a simple pleasure like a walk down by the ocean, with your foot upon the white sand, your foot upon the strand. Reminds me of a simple song, I sang when I was young. My heart was full of wishes, that never did become more than the coppers of a local fountain, or the bottles we hurled in the Corrib.

We had barely kicked and turned again to face the Claddagh. And you said the love I need is the familiar,
the love of family draws me home.
